York says Goodbye to the First Openly Gay Couple in College Football

Constantine AFC bids farewell to the first Openly Gay Couple in College Football at the University of York.

After joining in 2019, the pair were accidentally handed President and VP at a covid-affected 2021 elections. Despite continuous poor results on the pitch and the death of a member under their watch, they bravely prioritised awareness for LGBTQIA+ in football.

For gay pioneers, supporting global political movements for equality is more important than the members or the football results, and that's the example they've set for others to follow, by challenging pervasive homophobia at the University of York.
