4s
Constantine 4s in their infamous college cup run, playing on the JLD against a side two leagues above them. A battling first 15 saw Pat Jordan at CB under immense pressure, evident in his escape to the touchline to violently empty his insides at the side of the pitch. The man wiped his mouth, winked at the opposition and returned to the field to play a valuable role in securing a 2-2 draw. Heroic.
4s
With the 4s being a relatively new side, it wasn’t always easy to find personnel, so the team was relatively mismatched in terms of talent. Fresh into his captaincy role, Mills decided to bury a hooked clearance into his own net past stand-in goalkeeper Guffick, in what was his only opportunity at showing he could beat Guffick at some area of football. The game was thankfully won. Some say he still wakes up in the middle of the night sweating about this one, or potentially the infamous 10-0 loss, but either way, he’s never lived it down.

Constantine 3s beat Vanbrugh 5s 2-1
Constantine 3’s put in a hell of a shift against a determined Vanbrugh team who searched for an equaliser till the final whistle. Constantine started well, but their creative efforts were generally stifled by Vanbrugh’s onrushing keeper or dubious offside decisions. At the back Constantine contained a poor attacking Vanbrugh side, that didn’t manage a dangerous attack within the first half. It was Maisura who provided the extra quality that Constantine needed and he powered into the box, finishing low and hard to put Constantine 1-0 up. The rest of the first half was played out in much the same manner, Constantine looking more and more comfortable.
With some halftime substitutions, Constantine looked energetic against a tiring Vanbrugh side. The opening minutes notable for Johnson’s bloody nose and subsequent substitution after receiving a knock, whilst challenging for a header in midfield. Vanbrugh started to push for an equaliser and received a stroke of luck when a through ball evaded Constantine’s defence and somehow wasn’t called as offside, leading to a Vanbrugh goal. Constantine didn’t miss a beat and went straight into attack. Hopwood’s looping corner bounced through the box and was eventually powered home by Longhorn, regaining Constantine’s lead. Vanbrugh continued to push for an equaliser for the second time but a resolute Constantine defence kept them out, whilst still managing to look dangerous on the break. Lyons coming closest with a shot that was narrowly tipped onto the post.

I'm sure you knew this post was coming lads... It's a really bittersweet way of ending my time here at York, but I'm so happy it was with my favorite people here and at my favorite club. I'll look back on this whole experience and say that being a part of Constantine AFC was the absolute best part. Obviously the football part has been great and I can honestly say I'll never ever top the outrageous form I've had here (22 goals in 13 matches) - I'm just really proud that I helped contribute to the promotion and I have no doubt that you guys will progress to the top division. Behind all the banter and my blatant cockiness, I love you all from the bottom of my heart and I'm going to sincerely miss everyone. Some of my best memories from this study abroad experience is with you guys: being a 'hooligan' for the first time, taking my shirt off for the first time in a match (5 goals in 4 matches against Derwent 😏), puking myself after the Euro in my pint hit the back of my throat and triggered my gag reflex, and definitely the amazing Thursday's at Fibbers. I'll seriously never forget all of this or you guys. Thank you for taking me in and making this 'Yank' feel like one of you.
