There was realistically only one man with shoulders broad enough to carry the responsibility of being the first 3s Captain. He was a workhorse on the pitch yet truly sacrificed his own game time to get everyone else in, and still managed a term 2 promotion into Division 3.
Below are the players who had the biggest impact on their 2016/17 season.

Phill Smith
"A quality keeper who cemented himself as the 3s first pick. Reliable shot-stopper and good distribution meant the threes managed more than a few clean sheets."
Ollie Wilson
"Potentially the three’s coolest player. A passionate and aggressive left back that helped the team transition from defence to attack."
Jake Longhorn
"Absolute rock of a centre back. Promising career ruined by an ankle injury in Salvo."
Misanju Arenyeka
"World ending tackles. Misan sliding in was enough to deter some strikers from attempting to take him on."
Sam Portlock
"No nonsense Mancunian with excellent decision making and decent spells going forward."
Lewis Simcoates
"Consistent, dependable, and a calming influence in midfield"
Tom Guffick
"Tom started playing football for CAFC in the threes and his talent soon brought him to the attention of the twos and ones. Undeniably Tom learnt many important lessons in the threes and carried this work ethic that allowed him to succeed in other teams."
Owen Pantry
"Powered up and down the pitch with a fitness that suggested that Owen hadn’t already spent a year of uni going out at least twice a week. He dominated whatever wing he was asked to play on."
John McAdam
"Jack-of-all-trades master-of-none. I’m pretty sure John played in every single position for the threes. Whether he was asked to fill in at left back or he just fancied a run up top is a completely different matter!"
Dilan Maisura
"Tricky footwork and a knack for finding space meant Dilan added a lot of attacking potential to a five man midfield."
Will Castle
"Speedy striker who was always good for a goal. Not always the most clinical, but had the legs to get in dangerous positions on the counter. Once netted a hat-trick when his family turned up for a game."
Bench
Miles Johnson
"Absolutely determined to get his head on everything which coupled with a powerful shot meant Miles was competing to start."
Jordan Smith
"Canny footwork and accurate passing made Smith more of a complete footballer than a lot of three’s defenders."
Patrick Jordan
"Patty J’s heat map would often resemble a bird’s eye view of a pint- a perfect circle. Jordan’s biggest contribution came in the form of his set pieces and he was known to bend free kicks effortlessly into the top corner."
Jake Tattersdill (Captain)
Douglas Huth
"Reliable left footer with a tendency to leave his mark on the man."
Michael Warwick
"Pretty face, ugly goals. Mike proved a reliable striker."
Shaun Turnbull
"Hard-working midfielder who added extra pace to the threes."
Timi Adegbenla
"The man who has made the most impact from the bench ever. On Archbishop Holgate, Timi completed the most unlikely hat-trick I have ever seen. I am still not over it."
