Louis Barrett

In September 2014, Louis Barrett stepped up to become the Captain of the first Constantine AFC 1s team, and subsequently wrote himself into club folklore. His leadership was invaluable to fresh-faced freshers trying to mix it with the established boys, and he guided his team to a perfect season of 7 straight wins in term 2.
"It was a real honour to captain the inaugural 1s team for the college. You feel a sense of loyalty towards each player and you don't wish to diminish the ability and contribution of an individual by excluding them from the eleven. This team was rotated frequently and the 'subs' were as active and integral as anyone else."
"The team was blessed with some very good technical players, capable of playing an attractive and intelligent style of football. Granted, it didn't always work — 22 acres isn't exactly the glorious surface you associate with sleek football. But as a team, we were committed to a passing game. Once we had a few games under our belt with an established core group of players, there was no stopping us."

Jack Spring
"hungover or not, the towering figure of Jack Spring always gave everything between the sticks"
George Tordoff
"he's not one for the headlines but we couldn't have done it without George"
Ben Froughi
"a fearless tackler"
Jack Collins
"technically very good, so composed on the ball he could play anywhere"
Tof Odusolu
"fast and powerful, good in the air and like a rock in defence"
Louis Barrett (Captain)
Ed Richards
"he would often antagonise the opposition and seemed to relish a physical game"
Matt Coathup
"Matt is one of the club's finest players, he could produce moments of individual brilliance, but he was also a great team-player"
Luke Shove
"brilliant all-round midfielder capable of scoring goals and formed a great partnership with Matt"
Jack Cooper
"a dangerous winger who had a great scoring record"
Will Gibbs
"Will was a magician; great at set-pieces, wonderful first touch, and scored some outstanding goals"
Max Cherry
"He talked a good game, but luckily he could back it up. He was a prolific scorer in his short time with the club."
Bench
Corey Deehan
"his footballing ability was nothing compared to the personality he brought to the group"
Jason Forster
"he would never allow anyone to say there was a better CAFC CB than him, and proved it in his 4 years"
Nick Banks
"Mr Consistency in his first year, we could always depend on Nick"
John Garner
"solid and reliable whenever called on"
"It might sound like a cliché, but there was a great sense of camaraderie within the group, both on and off the pitch. Perhaps because we were a new college, and had an underdog-like reputation. Although I was captain, organising the team was a joint effort. Ben, Will and Luke were involved in arranging training sessions and other off-field activities. Jamie, Tom (Nouse) and Isaac (Jamie & Tom’s housemate) were also instrumental in the club's formative years and it wouldn’t be right to exclude their names when speaking of the inaugural year for Constantine AFC."
