Every Monday at 12:30 for the next 13 weeks, we'll see a former Constantine AFC Captain's Best XI. They've been given free rein, so expect a few surprises with formations!

We'll look back on the players who got the club to where it is now. I've seen every one of them come and go, and without a shadow of doubt, this club already has had a spectacular array of ability and personality etched into its early history.

All these teams faced the same challenges as the eternal underdog, and drove through it together proudly with the Constantine AFC badge on their shirts. They knew at the time they were the beginning of something, and that journey continues today. The progress thus far is built on the dedication and commitment of those who have now moved on, leaving the current members with the responsibility to continue the club's upward trajectory.

My thanks to the former captains who helped make this happen!

The first team out is Louis Barrett's 1s from 2014/15 on Monday 22 June.

After struggling to get it together in the first season and barely with 14 footballers in the club, this 1s team went on a rampage aided by a January loan signing in the name of Max Cherry. Louis could be heard every minute of every game imploring us to 'play the ball' which was more or less all we needed, even on a muddy 22 Acres surface. A perfect season earned promotion into Division 1 to cap an extraordinary first year.
