Tom Gillis

Following in the footsteps of previous 2s captains, Tom was a leader by example on and off the pitch. Despite a short stint, his 2s made light work of Division 2 and they secured an early promotion.
Below are the players who he believes most contributed to the results they had.

Bradley Causey
"A commanding presence between the sticks with amazing reflexes and handling. A nightmare to get a hold of though!"
Ed Hoppe
"He’s an attacking minded full back but was rarely caught out of position. Linked up well with the midfield and whoever was on his wing."
Isaac Magee
"A ball playing CB with great feet and positioning. Reminds me of a young Harry Maguire, probably has a decent right hook on him too."
Jack Scerri
"Often flies under the radar but easily one of the most technically all-round players at the club. A solid CB and a powerhouse CDM, but he’s even done a job up front."
Ryan Kalirai
"What he lacks in height he makes up for in aggression and ability. The main cause of most bust ups in 2’s games in the 19/20 spring term."
Tom Horton
"Whenever the midfield might be caught too high up the field, you can always rely on Horton to sniff out any danger and win back the ball. An aerial threat in a midfield with a lack of height."
Andy Kean
"A born leader and my vice captain. Took charge in the midfield and worked well with Horton. Very prone to scoring worldies that have pulled us out of the shit a few times."
Callum McDonnell
"A very gifted player who could do a job anywhere in the attack. You always know he’s capable of that little bit of magic you sometimes need to win a game."
Tom Gillis (Captain)
Brian Mbanya
"the easiest pick for me, his work rate is what makes him a class player"
Josh Meredith
"Gives his everything for the club on and off the pitch, chasing lost causes and running until he needs to be subbed off. Creates a lot of his chances from nothing and was in the form of his life in our promotion season. Big shithouse."
Bench
Michael Shepard
"Brilliant with both his hands and his feet, in goal or as a full back. A cracking left peg but could also do a job at right back. Very calm and composed on the ball."
Bhushan Dadarkar
"Like a young George Best taking it round defenders then going back and beating them again. Very skilful player and an asset to the club."
Cheikh Wam
"I have never seen a man with the work ethic of Cheikh. He never stops running and is a nightmare for defenders due the pace and power he injects into the game."
