Captain's Best XI - Week 6 Preview

The next team out is Rob Maughan's 2s from 2017/18 on Monday 27 July.

There was only one target in mind for new Captain Rob Maughan, the promotion to Division 1 they'd just missed out on the previous year. Fresh from winning Players's Player the previous term, Rob exemplified the leader by example and knew how to get the best from his players.

This 2s team was blessed with 3 seasons of continuous years of Captains with a deep understanding of the game. Jack Cooper was the first, Rob Maughan the second and Sam Portlock the third, and in that period rose from Division 3 to a solid mid-table Division 1 side.
